Re: A Way to Imitate Disney's C.A.P.S system?

If this is an example of the C.A.P.S. user interface.........what an eyesore!!! Visually, it is in-house software engineering at its practical worst.........with just a little time devoted to aesthetics it could have been improved exponentially. Yes, those guys at Pixar who programmed CAPS were ama...

Re: Hotkey Configuration - Alt key change?

Anyway, we've added in our "to do list" the possibility to assign "rotation" and "move canvas" to another key. So Alt would be always assign to the features above (and could not be changed), but you could anyway assign another key to move or rotate canvas :) That is great,I'm hoping this will come ...

Re: Next Frame -shortcut?

There is some confusion because I seem to recall that in some of the TVPaint documentation you'll find references to "frames" , but other places the word used is "images" (as distinct from instances ) . If you search the shortcuts for "Next Frame" or "Previous Frame" you won't find it. The keyboard ...

Re: A Way to Imitate Disney's C.A.P.S system?

I understand it completely. It's great to hear what TVPaint can do. I'm really thankful and honored that I can talk to legendary animators like you and the team at TVPaint about the software. And I want to say, thank you very much for taking your time to answer my question. You're welcome . Glad yo...

Re: A Way to Imitate Disney's C.A.P.S system?

Hi, NicoToonZ - I worked at Disney Feature Animation during the CAPS days 1989 - 2004 . TVPaint can do everything that CAPS could do, including colors on the lines, shadows, highlights, and tone mattes on characters. Although I should point out that during that time at Disney (1989 - 2004) shadows, ...

Re: Cintiq 13" over 21.5"

Hi, theBrian - I don't have any experience using the specific model of Cintiqs you mention , the 21.5" DTH-2242 or 13" DTK-1300-1 , but I do have a Cintiq 21" UX DTK-2100 and if you were to ask me I would recommend the 21" or larger size Cintiq over a 13" Cintiq . At one time I had used a Modbook (w...

Re: music static

Re: Project Playback + Export issue

In regards to the Standard Edition , I wrote : "To watch the clips in continuity you would have to export each one as a .mov , then drop each of those .mov files into an editing application (Premiere, Final Cut, iMovie , etc.) to watch them composited as one continuous movie and then export them to ...

Re: Old TVPaint on New Mac

I can't find more info about the version of TVPaint I have. It's Says TVPaint Pro 11 - that's all it'll give me. Look under the Help Menu > About TVPaint Animation. That will show the version number. The most up-to-date version is 11.0.8. If yours is a lower number try logging in to your TVPaint ac...

Re: Hej Stylus! line smoothing software

Thank you for your input about Hej Stylus! I will admit I had forgotten all about it in the two years since I posted this ,but now I think that will look into it again. I recently had a student tell me she was no longer going to use TVPaint for clean-up on her thesis film because she found the line-...
