Re: My Newest Showreel

I can't view your video in either Firefox or Chrome (with Flash enabled in both browsers) here on the TVPaint Forum. All I see is a blank white space.

However, I can view it at the link: https://www.behance.net/gallery/7500548 ... n-Showreel

Re: Mistakes in the user guide

The updated section on the Video Input is better , https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index.php?id=lesson-import-export-video-options-video-input , the photos showing a more typical table top stop motion set up demonstrate the function of the video input more clearly , but it could still use some fur...

Re: Handles on instances

This is a wish. I wish that when you zoom out on the timeline, you did not lose the last instance handle. That is, the little square at the bottom right of the instance. Not on all of them, but on the last one only. That way, you could zoom out, grab the handle and quickly drag that instance to cov...

Re: Alison Snowden & David Fine Talk ‘Animal Behaviour’

The entire film is online now . (I think all the films on the "short list" for the Academy Award are currently playing online for a limited time ; not sure if this one will stay up on the NFB site or if this is a limited-time only . As of January 4, 2018 , it's available .) -- https://www.youtube.co...

Re: Krita vs Tvpaint Which is better for digtal painting and backgrounds

I've tried Krita , it's very nice. However , as a rule I prefer to work as much as possible within the same application , so my answer would be TVPaint. But this is sort of like the old question : which pencil is best -- Tombow 2B or Blackwing 602 ? (to name just two of the many options) but the ans...

Re: Export as PSD - conflict with Photoshop CC 2019

The TVPaint project size is 4096 x 3072 , 7 layers, 185 frames , export via Clip: Layers Structure , all Layers and Frames , as .PSD . Resulting .PSD file is 2.84 GB (the .tvpp file was 1.79 GB). The 2.84 GB .PSD file won't open in Photoshop. Photoshop says: "Could not complete your request because ...

Re: Export as PSD - conflict with Photoshop CC 2019 ?

Here is a little update on this issue. A colleague messaged me: "Yes-- I got the same error message... but it's because the file size is too large to open in Photoshop . When I downscaled it in TVPaint first , it opened fine in PS." So , that's very interesting. I did not realize that Photoshop had ...

Export as PSD - conflict with Photoshop CC 2019 ?

I just noticed a problem when exporting a TVPaint project (all Layers and Frames) as a PSD file , trying to open the exported PSD file in Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 it gives an error message: "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." Screen Sho...

Re: JSON export lag , freezing

My latest attempt at the JSON export has been running for a bit more than 2 hours at this point and when I checked it again about 10 minutes ago was pleased to see the progress has now jumped to 65% completed ! So maybe it's not so bad as I thought . And checking again just now I see it has jumped t...

Re: JSON export lag , freezing

The calculation makes perfect sense , what I'm worried about is the progress bar getting stuck at 9% for over an hour and the application TVPaint shown in the Finder Force Quit list as "TVPaint 11 Not Responding" . If it only advanced a little bit every 30 minutes or so and the app didn't show as fr...

JSON export lag , freezing

I am trying to export a scene with the JSON export option (to take it to After Effects) . How long is considered "normal" for the export of a large scene ? Should I be waiting an hour or more for a scene to export ? I've got a scene that is 4k resolution, 757 frames, 22 visible layers ... I know thi...
