Re: Changing an imported black title to a color?
I'm a devotee of the "a picture is worth a thousand words" school of thought, so to add to what Slowtiger and Peter Wassink wrote: If you imported your original Title with black text on a (opaque) white background, it will obscure anything underneath it and you won't be able to color the b...

Re: More light table frames!?
Interesting ! I did not know that was possible by setting light table to Mode Image Mark (or if I did know it at one time, I forgot it).Peter Wassink wrote: ↑22 Apr 2024, 10:46 you can already do this.
First mark the frames of interest with an image marker and set the lightable to "Mode Image Mark"

Re: Please remove the default auto-naming during Export
What I do is first run a renaming script by Mads Juul: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5403&p=47609&hilit=batch+rename#p47609 and then export. I don't think this issue was ever fixed Indeed, yes, Mads Juul's clip renamer script is the only practical solution. Mads' re...

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.3 is available!
Hello, thank you for noticing this "About" menu item confusion :) Regarding the "Help" menu problem: according to our tests, this seems to be happening only on ARM Macs. Also, one of our colleagues on Monterey has it, but 2 others on Sonoma don't! Lukas' and fmhansen's signature...

Re: How to get Smoothing Effect!
Haha discoverred this halfway through my project T__T. Reason I never used it before is I never new you could tone it down enough it wasn't OVER smoothing. Yes, just adjust the percentage of smoothing by click & drag on the arrows to the right of Smoothing - Screen Shot 2024-04-01 at 7.41.53 AM...

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.3 is available!
Dean, in my account, when I go to download wibu version, it has > TVPaint Animation 11.7.3 Std (mac-64 wibu) [14996wo].zip as the file I am downloading. But, when I install the program and check the About screen, it states the version is 11.7.2 (11.7). I'm on Mac. So, not sure if after installation...

Re: gifs
While on the topic of GIFS , does anyone have any tips on optimized settings for export to GIF in TVPaint ? I notice with an image sequence or .MP4 imported into TVPaint which is then exported ot GIF , the exported GIF is much larger than the source .MP4 file (even if the .MP4 was 1080p resolution a...

Here is the the complete animation sequence that appears in Wes Anderson's film The French Dispatch. This animation for The French Dispatch was done in TVPaint. (as was the hand-drawn animation parts of Anderson's stop-motion animated film The Isle of Dogs .) TVPaint was used for animation, Fusion f...

Re: Odd ERASER behavior in 11.7.2
I'm having this exact same problem! Only that when I rotate the stylus from eraser to pen, my pen jumps to another colour I have used previously. So I'm drawing with blue, I turn the stylus around to erase, turn it back to draw and the Pen tool switches to green or black... I haven't had the color ...

Odd ERASER behavior in 11.7.2
EDIT: The problem has been resolved in update to version 11.7.3 . ----- I noticed a strange eraser behavior in 11.7.2 today - In 11.7.2 I was using the PENCIL tool to draw, then I turn the Wacom pen over to use the Eraser end -- which worked correctly -- but when I turned the pen over to resume draw...

Re: Questions about TVPaint 11.5.3
Hi, Joe, I'm not sure if you're still checking back to this forum, but there is now a better solution for what you want to do with turning your animatic clips into separate projects. Hironari Takagi of Studio WIT has made a script to automatically export clips to projects with the clip name intact. ...

It works now. Thanks!
Thank you Hironari Takagi for this very useful script.
Thanks to Peter for putting it into a custom panel .tvpx file.
