Re: Exporting in 1080i and Apple prores 422HQ

I would still suggest from the 64bit version you try the third FFMpeg option - "Compressed-RGB/RGBA" , which as I understand it is the FFMpeg equivalent of ProRes . I would definitely suggest that you NOT use H.264 compression codec as in your screen shot, because H.264 has poor color fidelity , it ...

Re: What is Cartoon Brew Referring To?

I think it is referring to the work of Paul Johnson. See here: https://www.tvpaint.com/v2/content/article/community/paul_johnson_tie_fighter.php Paul's method of animating the spaceships is to model them as simple 3D shapes in Cinema 4D. The 3D shots are then imported into TVPaint as image sequences...

Re: Exporting in 1080i and Apple prores 422HQ

With the 64bit version the Export formats are .AVI and FFMpeg .MOV . So technically , no , you can't export to Apple ProRes 422HQ directly from the 64 bit version of TVPaint. (Quicktime is not compatible with 64bit and technically , not compatible on Windows at all , since Windows users were all adv...

Re: Thundercats Roar

Not a show I'd care to watch (but I'm not the intended audience) . The original I barely remember as a He-Man wannabe show (never watched it) .

But there is no "Cal Arts style" . That's an invented internet thingy.

Re: How do you review WIP when it's split into separate projects?

I've now made the first 22 seconds of my 5 minute film, and just as you folks warned, TVPaint is getting sluggish and it's obvious that I need to move on to a new project. So I've set up a new project with a 22-second long blank clip as a placeholder so that my soundtrack will synch up. But I like ...

We are using the Air Brush tool on 30% Power Screen Shot 2018-05-18 at 12.42.06.png Ok, I'm not sure if it does what you want , but you can add the "Spread" (4% or thereabouts) to the Airbrush gradient . Re: 8 bit banding issue

Hello folks I just wondered how other people here deal with the banding issues that come about because TVP is 8bit. Is there a magic way of getting rid of the banding on gradated coloured areas - ie up-scaling to 16 bit somehow after its exported? It is driving us a bit mad as we would prefer to do...

Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs"

The new movie "Isle of Dogs" , directed by Wes Anderson, is mostly stop-motion puppet animation, but there are a number of shots with drawn animation. I noticed that TVPaint has a credit at the end of the film and many of the animators credited for the 2D Animation sequences are veteran TVPaint user...
