Re: The French Dispatch (Wes Anderson) title sequence animated with TVPaint

I know this is going to go a bit off topic but the video highlighted something significant. There is a striking contrast between everything done in that video and the brief clips of Disney classic animation. My heart warmed when I saw those brief shots. It wasn't so much recognition of classics. I a...

Re: Bird Karma, new short by Dreamworks

Forgive my dismal POV of the story here. It is probably just coincidence due to the way things seem to have gone in recent years. This choice of endings hit me as significant. From my point of view the karma could have gone a different way. When the bird seemed to befriend the orange fish everything...

Re: EBsynth a powerfull texturising (rotoscope)tool

Since Harmony is the industry standard , it would be entirely necessary to.... You quoted an ad campaign verbatim . Has that perception come directly through experience in the field or though literature, (i.e. online ads, forum posts, newsletters, print/online magazines, etc.)? I see it parroted wo...

Re: How often do you update your computer equipment and internal hard drives?

At some point your hardware will no longer be compatible with newer operating system versions. Eventually your software will not be compatible with your old operating system version. There is a point when you cannot even navigate the internet because the browser cannot be updated to what many websit...

Re: The Birds

I love everything about these clips. I want to say this project is an example of how every ingredient, technique and principle applied to animation can be expressed with perfection yet avoid being cliche through the vehicle of attitude and personality. Perfection comes in many forms and personalities.

SPA Studios Klaus observation

I did not find a thread that would be a good fit so I am starting one. I finally saw Klaus on Netflix. I still have not completed it. (I tend to watch things in increments picking up where I left off on another day. I do not have the time to watch things all the way through in one sitting generally ...

That is really cute.

Amazing hand-drawn animating skill evident with all of that smooth rhythmic motion.

Re: Various stuff made with TVPaint

This film was made at Cal Arts in 2020. Nothing on the film credits explicitly says 'Made With TVPaint" , but I believe most of the animated films made at Cal Arts are made using TVPaint. (If anyone knows different, please correct me.) 'Onions' a film by Anna Scott - https://annascottcharacter...

Re: Underwater Caustic Effects with Perlin Noise

That is an amazing depiction of ocean waves DiletantBabaewich. The funny thing about this "underwater effect" is that you don't see that in nature while underwater. The "underwater ripple" is a film convention, like a speed line in comics. So I'd be totally happy with just a ripp...

Re: Bird Karma, new short by Dreamworks

In the AWN article (https://www.awn.com/animationworld/new-dreamworks-shorts-program-birds-and-marsupials) the producer of the film, Jeff Hermann, talks about their work pipeline on the short: "The studio had to create a pipeline for the short because it no longer had one for 2D animation"...
