Re: impressive watercolor simulator

I am a veteran of digital watercolor simulation techniques, and have quite successfully marketed some watercolor plugins for Photoshop for the last several years. Peter, I am inclined to agree with you. When it comes to doing studies, fine art pieces, and other things done "for art's sake," I still ...

Re: Peanuts! Feature film by Blue Sky

The look of that is so nice! I wish they had considered the idea of inbetweening (or "tweening" as the software case may be) on 2's instead of 1's. I'm not sure why, but I dislike the look of modern animation on 1's. It looks too smooth and it doesn't match the feel of the original. However the rest...

Show brush mode in status bar

I'd find it useful to see what marking mode (Color, Erase, Behind, etc.) the brush is using in the status bar. This is usually more important information to me than the coordinates, color attributes, or proxy status. When painting I usually keep the tool drawers closed, but this is the only place to...

HSV Color Disc

Dear TVPaint team, I would desperately like to see this type of wheel implemented in TVP: hsv-wheel.PNG (the picker above is from the open-source software MyPaint , and is also found in another open-source application, Krita .) While TVP 11 now has the chromatic wheel, there is a great advantage to ...

A public Trello board for TVP development?

We often see the same bug report or feature request come up on this forum repeatedly, or check-ins on the status of a bug in multiple threads. This is in part because the search feature of phpBB is somewhat unreliable. Many software companies now are making public development boards to help the user...

Re: New colour scheme

I can at least answer the last question about the cursor/brush size, because this has come up here a number of times. The short answer seems to be that the TVP team does not consider "maximum brush size" to be a preferable cursor preview for brushes that vary by size. In Photoshop and other drawing ...

Re: Inbetween automation solutions and ideas

If you're looking for good ways to integrate 3D with 2D, look into the newest version of Blender. The Grease Pencil system for that program has been expanded and improved greatly, and allows some really interesting interplay between hand drawing and 3D elements. For example, you can draw frame-by-fr...

Re: TVP11: Luminosity Slider in Picker mode is not correct

Just bumping this up again -- is the palette working as intended, or is this a bug...?

TVP11: Luminosity Slider in Picker mode is not correct

When the color panel is in Slider mode, the "L" slider shows a proper gradient from black, through the current A color, to white. In Picker mode (Luminosity mode), the L slider goes from 100% cyan at the bottom to white at the top, no matter what. That doesn't seem right.

Re: A3 Scanner for Mac

I bought one of the Brother MFC scanners a few years ago for US$180. That model, the MFCJ6510DW, has a ledger-size flat bed and an auto-feeder on top so it is great for scanning both animation drawings and other types of artwork (like comic boards). I agree that the color isn't fantastic, but I typi...

Re: Different brush sizes

To answer your first question, I like variable lines on everything I do, so I just use the free-resize command all the time. I have a few different brushes in the bin which have more general Big/Medium/Small sizes, but I don't have "5px brush," "10px brush" level of need. I don't even like to do cle...

Re: Lookng for a dip pen

The fringe is there to give it sort of a scratchy texture, like the edges of a nib that don't have as much ink. As far as I know, "drying" means that all strokes made by the brush will be affected by the right-click erasing function. If drying is disabled, only the last stroke you made will be erasa...
