Re: Export resolution issue

I am coming to realize that I don't really understand this, but I better try because it could impact the quality of my output. There are some parameters which are unclear to me. Here is an example project: - Project resolution = 3840 x 2160. - Camera is set at full project size, so no cropping. Als...

Re: What is the best size for projects?

The "best size" varies , depending on the intended output . Right now I'm working on an animation project that has a final output of 2K (2048 x 1536) but it is being animated at 4K (4096 x 3072) , which allows for the final images retaining a very sharp line quality after they are down-scaled from 4...

Re: Snow effect

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking of ! That's beautifully done. Thank you, D.T. Nethery. Yes, there are a lot of possibilities with the particle generator. There are a lot of parameters but, once you understand them, it's very fun and interesting to try them. You should do a tutorial on how y...

Re: Snow effect

Thank you, D.T. Nethery. Yes, TVPaint allows a great snowing effect, I'm so happy with the result. And yes, currently I'm working on a rain scene (and I read a few days ago precisely that article that you attach; thank you very much for prepared it, I didn't know it was you). Your normal test is ve...

Re: Snow effect

Very nice ! It's a nice effect . Have you tried rain ? (I made a little tutorial a while ago that was based on an older tutorial from way back in the TVPaint 7 days , which was no longer available online , so I re-created it from written notes - RAIN Particles FX tutorial . ) For the snow fx , I sti...

Re: Mac OS High Sierra

Dan, since I'm in a series of travels, I did not take the chance to upgrade my Mac yet. As soon as I return from CTN, I'll dive into that. Thank you for your patience ! I'm asking because other people are asking me : is TVPaint 11.0.8 running fine on Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra ? Any reason not to upd...

Re: nudging panel

Looks great, thank you. Does it install on a mac? Haven't manage to install so far. thanks in advance Yes. I'm on Mac and I installed it using the Unarchiver app. (free , get it on the App store) . Use the Unarchiver to extract the .rar compressed file of nudgingBar.bin , then go to to Custom Panel...

Re: Brush wouldnt show up

Your first step to fixing your issue is to update your software . TVPaint 10.0.16 is very old and no longer supported , so it's surprising that you would be using such an old version. (when did you buy it ? And do you not receive the TVPaint newsletter where updates are announced ? You should subscr...

Re: Apple discarding support of older MacOSX versions ?

It is the same situation with the recent discovery of the Intel chip security vulnerabilities: Apple issued a statement saying that the Security Update issued recently "mitigates" (note well they don't say that it "fixes" the issue) the security issue for OS 10.13 (High Sierra) , 10.12 (Sierra) , an...

Excellent. I will have to wait until next week to try it. Thank you! I have to admit , the thing baffles me ! I really don't understand the logic of it. I started looking at it again when I saw your post and I remembered that I also have times where it might be useful to print out an "X-sheet" vers...

Re: Making sheet for people working in another software

Thanks so much, D.T. Are these excel files? Do you fill them in by hand? Or is this a way to export an sheet directly from a scene? This is not an Excel file, it's a generated file in TVPaint , which can be exported as an Image file for printing or printed directly from File Menu > Print. It's not ...

Re: Making sheet for people working in another software

I realize this tool was developed specifically for Japanese workflow , but how easy would it be to modify the timesheet (exposure sheet) script to make it replicate the arrangement of a "Western" style x-sheet ? Could we have a version that has: 1.) Continuous frame count running down the left side ...

Thank you, indeed for the concise explanation .

(I love when that happens: in writing out the question and posting it to the forum, something clicks and you find the answer !)

Re: Color Adjust bug ?

Hi David and happy new year, There can be multiple reasons why Photoshop values differs from TVpaint values. TVPaint uses 8 bits conversions, maybe Photoshop uses floating point conversions in his algorithms even if you're working in 8 bits. But I don't think this would lead to this kind of gap bet...
