Re: Animation working methods
I depend on the Freehand Flip function! It's the closest thing to traditional animation because you can roll the drawings and have them come back to the one you were working on. Here's a screen capture I took a while ago. When the drawings move, it's because I'm holding down the Freehand Flip button...

Re: Blizzard - Cinematics
The funny thing is, I'm actually quite partial to the work of David OReilly, who uses a lot of intentional "glitches" and highly computer-specific quirks as part of his work. His is some of the only 3D animation that excites me or that seems especially vital, original, or unique to the med...

Re: Blizzard - Cinematics
It would be very interesting to have a stop-motion style CG program where you can only go straight-ahead. Perhaps with the new VR technologies they are making now, there will be the opportunity to create virtual stop-motion sets and animate with the VR "gloves"?

Re: Blizzard - Cinematics
I'm really nobody who dislikes everything CG, but often if you see a direct comparison like here the animation looses some of it dynamic. Agreed. This is just a limitation of the current 3D medium. There are so many amazing things that can be done with a line drawing that can't easily be done with ...

Re: A simple suggestion to improve TVP for illustration
OK great! I never really understood how the Vertical Timeline worked before. I don't usually use the Right Drawer, so this works perfectly. Thanks!

A simple suggestion to improve TVP for illustration
I have a room set up for digital illustration/painting. What would be nice would be a switch/button/hotkey whose function is "Show/Hide Timeline" but which would LEAVE the layers part of the Timeline panel. That way I could have a layers panel as in other digital painting software, without...

Re: A Question about Tablet PC, Android and Nomad
It's true that some of this can be compensated for by adjusting the pressure curve; however at root there are limitations in the sensitivity of the hardware itself. This is particularly true among the Wacom Tablet PC's, I'm not sure why. I have also taken the more extreme measure of disassembling my...

Re: A Question about Tablet PC, Android and Nomad
I have used several Windows-based Tablet PCs with Wacom pens. They have all been quite frustrating in one way or another. For one thing, the scaling of UI elements on a small high-res screen makes it difficult to interact with most programs and with the OS in general. Some targets which are simple t...

Re: What are the best settings for working & exporting proje
Generally speaking, TVP's export is very "what you see is what you get." When you are zoomed in to the canvas at 100%, the final film should look no better or worse (i.e., no blurrier or grayer) than that. I use the AVI (internal) at Quality: 100 and Mode: RGBA when I want to render a movi...

Re: link more than one feature to the brushsettings
You can already do this to your heart's content. Each brush parameter is independent. You can have pressure/azimuth ("tilt")/speed etc. affect multiple parameters at once. I have many custom brushes for pencils that do just what you are looking for.

Re: impressive watercolor simulator
I am a veteran of digital watercolor simulation techniques, and have quite successfully marketed some watercolor plugins for Photoshop for the last several years. Peter, I am inclined to agree with you. When it comes to doing studies, fine art pieces, and other things done "for art's sake,"...

Re: Peanuts! Feature film by Blue Sky
The look of that is so nice! I wish they had considered the idea of inbetweening (or "tweening" as the software case may be) on 2's instead of 1's. I'm not sure why, but I dislike the look of modern animation on 1's. It looks too smooth and it doesn't match the feel of the original. Howeve...

Show brush mode in status bar
I'd find it useful to see what marking mode (Color, Erase, Behind, etc.) the brush is using in the status bar. This is usually more important information to me than the coordinates, color attributes, or proxy status. When painting I usually keep the tool drawers closed, but this is the only place to...

Dear TVPaint team, I would desperately like to see this type of wheel implemented in TVP: hsv-wheel.PNG (the picker above is from the open-source software MyPaint , and is also found in another open-source application, Krita .) While TVP 11 now has the chromatic wheel, there is a great advantage to ...
