Re: Naming Conventions and File Structure for 2D Animation?

Good topic. "I've encountered people using the term "scene" for "shot" . I don't have time to comment extensively on this right now , but will mention that during the years I worked at Disney Feature Animation (from 1987 on Who Framed Roger Rabbit - through 2003 on Brother B...

Re: animating on 2's basic set up question

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Because I'm working closely with live actio n, maybe it is easier to work in layers, so ,I can set up the layers at the start? If you work over live action footage, you'll not change FPS anyway, you'll work with 24 fps constantly. Just draw one frame, then ...

Thanks D.T.!

There may be ! (a more automated way of doing it) but that's how I do it. Maybe one of the TVPaint power users will chime in with an easier/more automated way.

Re: Default Timeline zoom ratio

I think those are interesting ideas for managing how the Timeline in TVPaint could be displayed , but right now I'm just requesting that the DEFAULT display when opening a saved TVP project is that the frames on the Timeline would be displayed in the fully Expanded mode , rather than in the Compacte...

Re: Mac System File requester is lagging terribly in TVP11

TVP11 native MAC OS file requester is lagging very badly in TVPaint 11. The built in TVP requester works good, so I had to switch to it... I'm on OS Yosemite Sorry to read that you are experiencing a bad lag with TVPaint 11 under Yosemite . To help the developers to track down and fix the bug I am ...

Re: How do you hold a background in storyboard function?

I'm working with storyboarding using the "Project" tab. Here's the problem: I click over to the "Timeline" tab and add a background color layer that I wish to have hold behind several panels, but when I click back to "project" to highlight the next storyboard panel, an...

Re: Dissolves between scenes possible in TVP?

Sewie, Thank you again for sending me this thread. I don't understand why Peter Wassink's crossfade works but it absolutely does. It's as if the fade out layer acts to block the under layer, while at the same time -- and this is the part I don't get -- it acts to reveal the top layer. As Peter note...

Re: Glitch makes me restarts TVP every 4min! Help please

It seems like your configuration may be corrupted. Try resetting your configuration (create New config) through the Startup panel menu ( if you don’t see the Startup panel when you launch TVPaint you can activate it in the Preferences panel ... in Preferences under Startup set it to Open Startup Pan...

Re: Excellent image sequence player

Yes an alternative to Fcheck (you can load sound along side a sequence of frames) is what I was looking for. Duduf frame player doesnt seem to let sound to be loaded with the image sequence. I guess Ill have to stick to Fcheck for now. PotPlayer was highly recommended to me (unfortunately for me it...

Default Timeline zoom ratio

I would like to request that when a project is opened in TVPaint the default view of the frames on the Timeline is to the fully expanded view , rather than opening in compacted view . In my experience the compacted view has been a source of confusion to many new users (students) , because they don't...

Re: Timesheet

Can you send me a screenshot of your TVPaint interface just before you run the script ? I uninstalled it , then downloaded and re-installed it . Now it works as expected, with no error message when generating Timesheet. Instances marked with an Image Mark now appear as the correct instance number o...

Re: Problem exporting a LARGE .AVI or .MOV file

What is your player ? I edited the post above to explain more . I use Quicktime 7 Pro as my standard player for .MOV, .AVI, .MP4, .M4V files , but I have VLC and DJV , which I tried after you had mentioned opening the 7K .AVI file in VLC . It does open for me in VLC (and DJV) but the playback is ve...

Re: Problem exporting a LARGE .AVI or .MOV file

Makes sense, I'd do the same. Have you tried to crop the project to multiples of 32px? I vaguely remember this being important, lots of years ago. It's just a shot in the dark, tho, I never had this problem with large files of whatever odd dimensions. I'll try that . The BG image I was given was or...

Re: soundtrack drawer does not have control or functionality

Just realised, I have TV Paint Standard edition, so assume there is no Master sound button! I think it would help in the tutorials to mention whether a function exists in Standard or Professional edition, as that is a bit confusing. That is confusing. So, yes, with Standard edition you can only loa...
