Re: Hi There

Wow - I'm so late to the party! Just wanted to say "Welcome" Stefan and tell you that I really enjoyed your show reel. The work that you and Hisko are doing on Junkyard is really amazing. He was kind enough to send me a clip. The depth of color and vibrancy of each scene is so impressive. ...

Re: Consistency of Image Over Time

Wow - there have been so many really great contributions to this thread - I thank you all. Like Master Chief, I also dabble in 3D and so I'm exploring avenues in both disciplines. I can't help but think there has to be a better way for one person with very limited working time to produce quality ani...

Consistency of Image Over Time

So I am practicing and practicing and noticing that I do not have good consistency of image as I go along. For instance, I start with a little rabbit and I want him to flick his ear – but as I draw him in sequential images he seems to deform and degrade … is this a common problem for beginners? I ha...

Thank you for sharing this link - I didn't recognize who he was until I saw the Beatrix Potter work in his show reel! OMG!! I have that whole collection and it's one of my prized possessions! I really enjoyed watching the interview he did on the Little Vixen production. Very instructive. He has a lo...

Re: Leopold Lehmann

I found the turn in perspective as she lifts her leg very instructive. I watched it over and over until I understood it. Do you do this part of the animation straight on, or do you do a beginning and ending drawing and then fill in the tweens? I also agree with Sierra about the anthropomorphic scene...

Wondering about animation styles

This may be a very naïve question so please bear with me. Because I am just beginning I have no predefined style and I’ve felt pulled to work in more than one way – this is confusing. How does one define their style? I have a defined style as an illustrator – but it doesn’t work when animated. So I ...

Re: Show us your workspace!

Cathy, what kind of eye sight do you have that you keep your monitor so far away in the distance?! Well Paul, I just measured it, and it's 24" from me when using the Wacom and 17" when just typing. ! It's a 24" wide screen monitor and I do wear glasses... I am experimenting with diff...

Re: Optimal frames per second for digital output

There is much more to be learned on this subject so don't try to understand everything all at once; it'll come to you in due time. Truer words were never spoken. I think I was confusing drawings per second with frames per second. But I seem to be grasping the concept better as I actually do it and ...

Re: Show us your workspace!

Cathy, how does it feel to draw on the tablet tilted like that? I was doing that for a while but found I that I was hunching over it too much and causing a lot of discomfort in my neck and shoulders. I find keeping it flat and looking forward at my monitor, I can sit up straight and sit for longer ...
