Re: Combining clips to make one output
use "Create a new project from selected clips" (bottom of drop down menu in the project tab) and then you can copy a layer or several layers made with one camera move to layers in the current project by using the Project tab (the one up in the main tabs) and selecting either "Render ...

Re: Combining clips to make one output
Hi Paul, Thank you for your help with this. I have done as you describe. No problem apart from the fact that I don't want to stop the move and then continue, I want to zoom in, stop, then move to another third position. I can't seem to make it go from A to B and then C, only A to B and then back to ...

Re: Redo not always working
Okay, this is going to give away that I am new at this. I wasn't aware of this History panel, which is great. I use it in Photoshop all the time. If nothing else, it may illustrate why the REDO is not working, but very handy generally. I have to avail myself of all the panels in that menu. Thank you...

Combining clips to make one output
So I was learning about camera moves from the very helpful Don Perro of Capilano U. I wanted to do a zoom in, stop and then at the end of the scene, a quick zoom in to a face. So two moves separated by a hold. Learned how to use the camera, which is a great tool, but it seems that the easiest way to...

Redo not always working
Finding that the 'REDO' function (as in UNDO and REDO) sometimes does not work as I expect. Here is the work path: - Start with version 1 of a drawing. - Erase something. - Redraw it. Now it's version 2. - Play it. Want to compare it to how it looked in the first place (version 1), so... - Hit UNDO ...

Re: Adobe: 2D animation tedious and certainly not expressive
Well, to be fair, it is tedious, but it's worth it and TVPaint makes it that much less tedious. Doing what they are doing there? Well, the results speak for themselves. No thanks. More of a gimmick to show off what they can do rather than a tool that would be useful. I can see kids having fun moving...

Re: Copy and paste mystery
Sorry, you are right. Copy to brush and then paste in place, or stamp in place, does the trick. I just have to then use that "recompute many instances..." trick that Paul mentioned to get it back to how it was, which is another step, but I'm not complaining about that. I guess I was thinki...

Re: Copy and paste mystery
Thank you Paul and Furushil. These are good tips and I will use them, but it does confirm that TVPaint requires a multi step process to do this simple function which I feel should be as simple as hitting copy and then pasting to whatever is selected. One move, just as in any other application I know...

Saving dependencies
Saving dependencies in the project is a really critical little menu item and yet, it is so easily overlooked. Even though I always want that, I sometimes start a new scene and forget that I have to go and tick that menu item, and that could end in disaster. This option should be a user configurable ...

Copy and paste mystery
I am often so amazed at what TVPaint does, but when I encounter a basic function that seems to not work, I am baffled. Is it me? This may be related to a previous question, but not specifically. This concerns the simple task of copying and pasting. Not incidents on the timeline, but artwork in the i...

Re: Creating a soft brush
Great. Thank you Peter. It seems the default airbrush in my case was set up very differently than this, so I was confused. This is very helpful and I figured out that Step means how quickly it falls off, which is important.

Creating a soft brush
Another in the pantheon of really basic questions from me. I want to create a white brush with a soft edge. Easy enough to simply use an existing brush, resize it and change it to white, but I want it to have a nice soft, airbrush like edge. In Photoshop, I can just grab the slider for softness and ...

Re: Deleting selected areas
Excellent. Thank you. I was looking for "Stamp in Place" and so overlooked this because it says "Custom Brush..." My bad.

Re: Deleting selected areas
Yes, but that's in the keyboard preferences, not the button menu, so I guess I can at least assign a key combo, but how do I assign it to a button?

Re: Deleting selected areas
"Stamp in place" sounds like the one to use for this. Thanks. It does then make everything single frame instances, but then I can use Paul's suggestion "recompute many instances..." to fix that. So a multi step process for something that I think should be done in one single move....
