Corrupted .tvpp file after power down

Post by ghiralds »

TVPaint team, how are you doing?

I'm currently working with some key sequences for a storyboard in TVPaint 10.0.16 as a freelancer. However, there was a power surge in my neighborhood right while the process of saving file was running. So it became corrupted and I can't seem to open it anymore :( .TVPaint loads it until 93% or so, and then, it crashes by itself. I'm pretty new to the software as a whole and I didn't have the time to explore the forum thoroughly, but since I'm working with it for a job that my client insisted TVPaint use, I've run out of options. Is there a way to recover at least the drawings made in the .tvpp file? There was no animation per se, but there's a lot of work invested in sketching multiple keyframes. Could you please help me somehow?

Best regards from a desperate young animator!

Hello,
TVPaint 10.0.16
You should update your software first.

Thierry, it's not my own TVPaint license I'm working with. It's my client's and, unfortunately, I can't reach him right now to have access to the unlock code necessary for upgrading. Would it work if I download a trial version for TVPaint 11 instead?

Thierry, I've just tried to open the file using TVPaint 11 trial version (11.0.3 / 64-bits), and it crashes all the same while loading. What could I do now?

Asking your client to buy a legal version would be a good start...
Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !
