A few questions about Android version.

Post by Soom »

On my downloads page I see that Android version will be functional until end of 2019. What will happen after?
I am asking this because I am considering buying an Android tablet to substitute for the too bulky Cintiq Companion 2 to be able to work during travels (I would otherwise prefer an iPad, but TVPaint for iOS isn't going to happen any time soon I guess?!)
So one question is - is it worth investing in a tablet if I got only a year, or will it function also after that?
Which brings me to the second question - is it worth at all? I am thinking of either Samsung Galaxy Tab4 or Huawei MediaPad M5. I'm not sure if anything better exists currently, or am I wrong?
I have a Cintiq Companion but it is very bulky and heavy, and I have realized I don't really need a real computer to be able to do my work during travels. But I still need to be able to TVPaint smoothily - are Android tablets capable of it?
thanks for your answers

I'm wondering the same thing. Hesitate to keep developing skills on something that'll soon be obsolete.

(FWIW, I'm using an Android PRO 12.2. I bought a used one about 4 years ago and it's still going strong. High resolution, and relatively bright.)
