Hmm, you're not wrong.

Wait a little, it's not available yet.

Don't forget TVPaint 10.5 is not officially released. Everything will be ready next week ;)

Out-of-Pegs is difficult for the new user to understand from the explanation in the User Manual on page 155 - 157 . At the end the user manual explanation leaves out a step , where the newly drawn Inbetween must be shifted into the correct position between the two Extremes by using the Transform Tool to position it in the desired spacing , whether 1/2 way in the middle or 1/3 or 2/3 if it is supposed to favor one or the other Extreme.
TVP_User_Manual_Out_of_Pegs.jpg

If both Extremes have been precisely shifted an equal distance then clicking on X (or actually "Reset" as it now named in TVP 10.5) then the new Inbetween will be correctly positioned 1/2 way in the middle , but if only one of the Extremes was shifted then the new Inbetween will be positioned favoring one Extreme or the other . The user must use the Transform Tool to shift the new Inbetween to 1/2 way in the middle.

The better default behavior would be that the new Inbetween is always automatically positioned exactly 1/2 way between the two extremes , then if the user desires that the new Inbetween should favor one or the other Extreme the user can re-position it with with the Transform Tool. But the current explanation in the User Manual is not clear on this procedure.

This is a function in TVPaint that needs a detailed video tutorial .

Just to clarify: is the TVPaint 10.5 manual available for download ?

D.T. Nethery wrote:Section 6-10 of the user manual on using Peg Holes Registration says:
"To use this function, just open the Window > Utilities > Peg-holes registration".
but this path is incorrect.

It should be Windows > Tools > Peg-Holes Registration

This mistake is still in the new User Manual for version 10.5 , page 6-10.

The path to find Peg Holes Registration should be Windows > Tools > Peg Holes Registration

not "Utilities > Peg Holes Registration"

Don't know if anyone asked this, but please add links in the Table of Contents, that can take us directly to the page! The bookmarks tab doesn't help because of several reasons: it's not searchable in Acrobat and there are no Lesson and page numbers and don't represent the same naming like in Table of Contents (which also must be added).
Thanks.

Under "George Scripting/A Few Useful Options" in the documentation >> HERE << the Pause command is used to demonstrate some George rules of syntax. Problem is, the Pause command doesn't work (at least it never has worked for me). Maybe some other George command should be used in its place?

Thank you for your message.

I've created a topic dedicated to Doc mistakes. When we will release TVPaint 11, we will merge it with this topic : http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php? ... =10&t=6883" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think in the drawing Panels what is missing an explanation of the relationship between the main and the tool panel.
these two should be underneath each other ( the color palette is more separate)
and the main panel is NOT "used to draw segments, ellipses, rectangles, curves... Brush selection and cutting options are also available here."
i think it should be more in this direction(sketch below) getting it right is a lot of work though

The main panel is where you select what kind of task you want to perform,
Selecting any of the folowing options from the mainpanel will result in having the relevant settings for that task in the corresponding toolpanel.
you can choose:
-a method to apply drawingtools e.g: freehand lines, straight lines, elipses, splines. this choice will give you the drawing tools in the Toolpanel
-any fill option like freehandfill(filledstroke), filledline, filled rectangl and the floodfill/PaintbucketLocalisation weaknes! tool will give you the filling shape settings in the toolpanel
-one of the numerous versions of the custombrushtool
-a selection tool,
-a method of modifying the present project content by selecting either the panning, transform warp or perspective tool
-to open the camera, >tool:camera
all of these tasks can be configured according to your liking with the many setting options in their corresponding tool Panel

these mainpanel options don't have a toolpanel:
-the zoomtools, to access the various zoomtools for navigating the projectview(navigator)
-CLR (clear) is a one action button. it clears the selected image(s)
-toolhistory
-Paper, click to activate a paper rightclick to set and select a paper in the paperpanel
-stencilswitch

Regarding the User Guide:
Not sure the "TVP Pro" icon (pro-only features) needs to be as big a button (smaller + blink?) and all the text related to shortcuts could be in another colour to be unmistakable (and linked).

A few minor typo from the FRENCH version, Partie 1:

#Intro

Keep up the good work guys :)
