[SOLVED] New Warp Tool

If I choose an image from the Library as source for the new warp tool, use the tool to distort my image and hit apply, I get a copy of the image on the same frame. I'm not really sure how it works, maybe someone could explain the process step by step.

Its the same here and it can be irritating. For me the easiest way to understand is thinking on it as a "warp-layer" on top of your frame showing the warp. When pressing Enter, the warp-layer will be stamped to the frame AND the warp-layer will stay active. That's why you see a double picture after manipulating the warp-layer again (the stamped picture AND the warp layer).

It makes more sense, when working on some more frames:
- warp in frame one
- Enter (Apply)
- goto next frame
- continue warping

and so on.

To make the Warp Deformation tool really useful you need a few simple buttons for rapid animation of the Library Source Image OR simple warping of the Current Image .

Here is a basic collection of buttons that will help with animating an image from the library or making simple image adjustments to the current screen. Download the Warp.TVPX file to install the Warp Panel and read the basic workflow instructions on how the buttons can be used in the Warp.PDF file.

For me, the various button actions work best when assigned to Shortcut keys. This library of buttons were created during Beta testing over the last month or so and are still a Work in Progress.

IMHO, all of the ARAP-based tools offer huge new possibilities for the future of 2D animation.

Thank you Animark, now I understand the whole process a lot better.

And thank you Sven, your panel makes it a lot faster to use the warp tool

Hi. Question: Is there any way to save an animation brush to the library or to use it as the source of a warp?
I'd like to have an animated source so I can, for example have a boil of a blade of grass and then deform it to make a wind effect... then duplicate the hell out of it :D

That's impossible, I'm sorry : Image Library will contain single images only, not animations. Not yet
