Multi-Backup Directory not working

No I don't have any firewall thingie..... that I know about! Maybe I'm just doing it wrong! Here's a question...does the path set in the Temp Directory in General relate to the saving? Clutching at straws!

Temp directory should remain /tmp/. This is the place where temporary files are created. These files manages images, thumbnails and previews for layers and instances. That helps to make your save and scrubs in the timeline much faster.

It's not necessary to change it.
