Animated gifs for guideline images

Hi, first time posting here.

As the title said, would it be possible to have something like this? Most of the time I would open animated references in several separate windows, or import them in different layers. I think having this would be much less of a hassle, and I do like how you can move the image guides off canvas.

That is something we already plan for the future, but it's a long-term development.
