Anti Aliasing on Flood Fill

Post by Kramme »

I would love it if we could get an anti aliasing option for the fill tool.
I know there is one for the filled stroke tool, but it does not seem to make a big difference when I click it on.

I confirm this bug in the Filled stroke tool. the antialiasing does not work.

What about checking "smooth" first? Try with a value of 1 or 2.
TVP 10.0.18 and 11.0 MacPro Quadcore 3GHz 16GB OS 10.6.8 Quicktime 7.6.6
TVP 11.0 and 11.7 MacPro 12core 3GHz 32GB OS 10.11 Quicktime 10.7.3
TVP 11.7 Mac Mini M2pro 32GB OS 13.5

Personally I have tried the smooth option and I dont like it. I think it looks ugly.
Lets look at these 2 examples. the Tool : Filling Shape have both options Smooth and A Aliasing. So it is easy to compare.
First a filled shape with smooth.

I think it looks jagged and ugly.

And then the same tool with a aliasing

Here the edges look nice and crisp,So I would like to see the AAlising option on the Flood fill as well

Thank You :)
Remember we have discussed 2 things
1) Anti Aliasing on Flood Fill
2) Anti Aliasing on Shape Fill Inside is not working

Thank you.
And please notice The difference between using smooth and aaliasing,.
I think all will agree the aalising looks so much better than smooth.
This is why we would like aaliasing on the Flood fill to make it work better.

Wait - what? Was it fixed already? cause I just downloaded the TVPaint 10.5.3 upgrade, and the Filled Stroke AAliasing works just fine! I never knew how it worked before, as I never used it...

Don't confuse - Smooth has a different intention - it's used to BLUR the edges of shapes, which is necessary in some cases.

I'm sorry to stress this again, but it's really annoying to export my drawings layer by layer to fill them in Photoshop and export and import the fillings again in TVPaint.
Did someone find time to start working on this topic?
