Reload/replace imported images

Sometimes I import an image or an image-sequence and would like to replace the image with a newer version of this image or sequence. Of course I could delete the layer and reimport it, but sometimes I already spread it all over my clip.
Or sometimes the footage can't be found, cause the hard-drive with the image on it isn't avaible. In this case it would be great to reload the image or sequence if it's avaible again.
I guess if you don't itegrate your footage in the TVP file just the path get's saved, so is it possible to reload the footage on this path or change the path and reload it then?
