Timeline copy/paste/insert behavior when dragging in TVP11

Post by Sewie »

I've mentioned this before in another thread but I want to make it a feature request because it drives me crazy:

Please remove the pop-up requester when dragging frame in the timeline, or at least allow users to just drag frames without that damn pop-up interrupting us.

I know there have been discussions about altering this behavior but in my opinion this is absolutely no improvement! It's destructive to the workflow and terribly annoying.
Compared to this new behavior the way it worked in TVP10 is much more preferable.

I agree with Michael, the method in 10.5, once you know the shortcuts, is faster.
the popup disrupts the workflow.

I guess I am the lone person who likes the new way... :? Though I am a believer in allowing users to choose preferences as much as is technically possible.

I'll keep you company, even though I've said this somewhere else. I do like the new way better because it can be done with mouse in hand. Instead of having to first decide if I press Shift or Ctrl with my left hand while focusing on a particular frame or sequence of frames, then making sure I'm still pressing on the key while dragging my frames etc., etc. while finally making sure I am precisely above my destination (my keyboard is relatively far to the left of my tablet and I know I'm not the only one who can't keep the keyboard in the center). Now all I need do is grab the frame, drag and select between two options, and drop the frames. This makes a lot of sense and I'm grateful for the change.

I noticed this has been solved quite elegantly in the 11.0.1 update.
Thanks so much.

old thread, but I have just switched to TVP 11, and I don't see it solved in any way - it still has a popup menu requester...
