For the light, I'd say the studio benefits a natural light (there is a lot of windows, in my memories). But well, they are in Ireland, so the sun is shy over there.

But yes, you're probably right concerning the girl next to the boil :p
I imagine they hired a lot of people for the production and placed them in any free corner :p

I have seen worse workspaces in many places.
But ok it's hard to figure out exactly without visiting and seeing by yourself.

Interview with director Tomm Moore at Animation Scoop about “Song of The Sea” .

He talks about production of the animation using TVPaint:
“The animation was done primarily in TVPaint with some vehicles and effects done in Anime Studio pro and Blender. We also found TVPaint allowed for us to go faster to a first pose test and use some shortcuts at clean up and inbetween stage to allow us to have fuller animation with even higher quotas than on Kells. I know it wasn't always easy for the teams but I feel we have achieved a very warm and full style of animation this time with lots of personality and fluidity even on our limited budget and short schedule.”

 I wonder what they're doing to expedite these processes... I'm always on the lookout for good ways to make cleanup/inbetweening more efficient.
