[wip] My new short film 'Old Feed'

Post by Greg.Sharp »

Hi, this is a new project made in tvpaint - and composited in AE, with oil painted backgrounds, but the animation and fx are all tvpaint.

The project is in production, collaborators in Sydney and New Zealand.

In any case here is link to the teaser on vimeo: http://vimeo.com/3979766

I like it!
feels like proper 70s independence :)
The teaser could be more well "shaped", but the visual and aural content is intriguing.
looking forward to see the outcome.

I also like this "old" style with water colour. :D

amazing work. i love the design of the old beast and how you managed to make it look like an old cell animation.
that walkcycle in the end could pass for a discarded sequence from an early Disney cut out because the monster was too disturbing.

Also Okkotonushi the boar god from Mononoke-hime came to mind.

Yeah cheers all for the comments.

Yeah I'm trying to emulate analogue cell look and feel, but it's a thin line to walk between overstylisation that might make it seem like just an homage to old skool, and understylisation that reveals the digital construction. Sometimes the style really drowns out any message in animated shorts, is that avoidable?

I love it.

It looks brilliant and I can't wait to see it when it's finished.
