renaissance 2054

for a more grown up cgi film you may want to have a look at
http://www.renaissance-lefilm.com/accueil.htm makes a nice change from all the cutesy bounding/dancing laughing 3d films from thelast 10 years or so....i believe that they used motion capture n the charcters and they were animated with autodesk motion builder and maya...or at least they look like that in some of the behind the scenes shots from the making of part of the dvd...

i hope we see more grownup cgi in the nr future as i'm getting full up with just children's films being the only source of cgi film making...it's a tool and can be used to make any type of film not just funny cute stuff...maybe pixar will step up to the plate soon and show us that they can 'go serious' with cgi.
