sounds really interesting to me. Hope some developers will start to support it, when it's finished.

Unfortunately, commercial software like us just can't : It's GPL ... not LGPL.

The basic and binary way of thinking, which is unfortunately often :
"there are only two options : being a big dev company such as Adobe, Autodesk, etc ... or being an OpenSource/Free software like Gimp or Blender"
is really boring at some point.

In the same way : not everybody can afford to pay patents, not everybody can live with a free product.


At least, having a middle position between two extremes is interesting and challenging.

In fact, FLIF is not under GPL license v3, but the default implementation is (https://github.com/jonsneyers/FLIF" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
