maybe move a group of images to a different spot on the screen (and I mean the images itself, not the layers).
I think this is a bug. The reset option should nod affect the AAliasing. I think (or hope) this is very easy to fix for the programmers so please fix this in the next update. Every time I reset the transform tool I have to set AAliasing back to 'none', and if I forget it one time, a lot of frames will be in halve quality...

This is what I hoped the layer group was going to be like

I agree. When reset the transform tool(s) the Anti-Aliasing should not default back to "medium". It should be whatever the user had it set at before the reset. Defaulting to medium is not a good choice.
Joost wrote:I imagined layer groups like in Photoshop, where you can put layers in folders which you can fold open and close to keep the layers organized.
The way it is now in tvpaint 10, it is still very easy to loose track of all your different layers.
For example: If you use the "hide layer group" function, you can't see where your frames in the layer starts and ends.
And it would be easy if you could select multiple layers and say "make group", and give the group a name. Using colors to make a group is not sufficient in my opinion.
Sewie wrote:I have to admit; that's what I thought of, and hoped for, when I read that TVPaint 10 had expanded it's grouping functions and options. I do hope that someday the TVPaint team will get to a point where creating groups and working with them will be as easy as just sliding them into a folder so that they are linked no matter what.

Joost wrote:Thanks for the information about moving layer groups.
I think I will use this function.
But I still think this is a very complex way for doing something that should be very easy.
BenEcosse wrote:The new 'Export Footage' panel is so much better now. Really well organised and easy to use.
That's already the case : if you select several layers and click on one color folder icon > choose a color in the pop-up menu > all the selected layers will be put into the group.
You can also rename the group in that same pop-up menu, with the function "Edit".
Elodie wrote:Folders have a big disadvantage : imagine you have 2 layers in the group A, 2 layers in the group B and then, you want to add above 2 other layers, which should be put into group A, but have to be above the layers from group B. With folders, you would have to create 3 folders. With groups, you can use only 2 folders and organize them in any order you want.
