"2 Berge" now online

Postby slowtiger » Sat Apr 03, 2010 6:36 pm

I just did the spring cleaning of my website http://www.enigmation.de and decided to put more of my older films online. "2 Berge" was the first film I completely animated in TVP. Have fun.

Simple and efficient, nice work.
I like how you played with sounds/animation, very poetic (and fun  ) .

Thanks for sharing your work!

Dueling mountains; truly charming. I wish it went on longer with escalating gags. Endings are hard though, and this one in particular suggests that it could have ended with something more unexpected; more of a complete surprise.

Hmmm... the little rear one sucks the front one into a lake which forms a pretty picture in color with people on the shore and little boats in the lake, until one day the lake explodes leaving behind two dead volcanoes to start all over again. (To start all over again isn't the most original ending either.)
Back to my own work.

Nice film, Markus.(Thumbs up!!!)
I understand that this one uses minimal and reduced language to tell the story - so I wouldn't expand it in anyway. To have the story continue in our minds I suggest to have the ending done with a very slow fade out in black (as night).

I enjoyed it too. There's room for so many ideas when one keeps things so simple. A zen little film in my opinion.

Thx for all the nice comments. As if that weren't enough I received a phonecall this morning from Kurzfilmagentur, one of my 2 distributors (ha ha ...). They plan to suggest 3 of my films to arte TV, one of them to be shown in the magazine "Kurzschluß". Let's hope for the best ... I'll know more in about two weeks.

Nice work. I love it when sound is a crucial feature of an animation.
