Rotation reset

Postby kariP » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:14 pm

At the moment, if I rotate the table (pegbar) and reset it, I can get thrown far away from the point of interest. This gets me disoriented and I have to zoom out or search the point again.

Would it be possible to track the position f.e. from the last brushstroke and center the rotation reset around it?

To maintain orientation I keep my navigation window opened at all times, reduced to a very small size so that it won't hog space. A small touch of the red box within this window sets me back to where I need to be. I also have one of my Wacom tablet buttons set to Alt so that I can easily keep my project window's focus to wherever I need it to be. Having said all this, your idea of having TVP remember the last brush stroke position sounds intriguing...

+1!!
It's an issue that's really annoying to me. I have made a feature request about it before in this thread but it's good to see that this point is still alive.

Tvpaint has coordinates, brushes use coordinates, something (George?) could maybe grab the info from the last position and use that to center the rotation reset. Surely, could be done?
I found a different solution on one earlier thread where you introduced a button with rotation reset+zoom fit 100%. I made that and it is a step to a better, clearer direction. I also left the navigator panel open to see if it could blend in with my work. Never know.
Thanks for these, hopefully somebody with knowledge of the code can say if this coordinate-tracking can be done.

I read it, point is still strong. I probably would use the rotation feature even more if it wouldn't be so "hard" to reset. I could rotate it nearly to the starting position, but I just like to be exactly sure I don't slowly start drawing my character off balance.

I know. I'm avoiding it if I can, especially when I'm working on details and have to zoom in often.
