Yes, very strange, surreal piece, but good animation.

I do think it's made with TVPaint , but if anyone can confirm that for sure I'd appreciate it.

Indeed, it's a little strange, but good animation.
I cannot see if it's made with TVPaint (maybe the colors ?) =\

"Moon Man" (Mondman in German) is a feature film based on a book by Tomi Ungerer, produced by Schesch Filmkreation, was made in TVPaint. It has a premiere this week in Annecy - I was an animator on this project, unfortunately couldn't go to the festival this year because of an urgent job that I'm actually doing on TVPaint also :)

Is there a trailer or any clips from the film online ? I've searched , but could not find anything .

Would love to hear more about the production, how TVPaint was utilized, etc.

I do recall reading that some of the production was handled by Cartoon Saloon in Ireland (and I do know that they use TVPaint for some of their work)

Me neither. I found Schesch's email address and took the liberty to ask him for the trailer. I hope he will answer me :)

I read on a French website that the movie will be broadcast in theaters in December. So, stay tuned ! =)

Really broadcast, or screened? I ask because both are possible these days. I've had some bad experiences with the broadcast via satellite system resulting in low res imagery on the screen.

I supposed it was "screened" :)

This website is mentioning a release date at December 19th 2012, so I suppose they are talking about theaters.

No trailer. Might one be coming though - I think they were in a hurry for the festival.
I was one of the animators on this film - I started working in Cartoon Saloon and then continued with Schesch till the end.
It was my first time with TVPaint and I fell in love with it since then.

Yes - of course - it's a theatrical feature :)
I myself didn't see the whole thing too - wasn't there for the final screening.

Hah - well, I'm not really into the production - I just did part of the animation - I can tell its hundreds of people - it's a big movie. It took more than half a year for the animation I think, but I suppose it took a few years to develop. Its better to ask Schesch though - I don;t know maybe they don't spread the info too much ... :)

Do you know if all the animators were working with TVP? Because my guess is probably not and if that is the case, how does a production like this get coordinated if animators not only don't know each other but most likely didn't even use the same pipeline?

All worked on TVP with no exception. Not knowing each other is normal these days - most big productions employ freelancers that work distantly. But in the terms of style it was very important for most of us to work in-house for a while just to get into the head of the directors.

Amazing -- and no one here knew. You must have a secret handshake. Where is in-house; which country/city? The film seems to hail from sveral countries.
