TVPaint Animation won't Import or Export Quicktime (.mov) files or AIFF audio files.
1
These functions require that the host system have Quicktime installed. Quicktime installers for both Macintosh and Windows systems are freely available from Apple Website.
2
Can TVPaint Animation load or save Flash file formats (.swf)?
2
No, because it's not the same technology.
3
Can I convert my TVPaint Animation drawings into a vector format?
3
TVPaint Animation's brisk imitation of natural media is dependent on its being a bitmap application. There is currently no support for Export of imagery in vector formats.
4
Where is the dpi setting in TVPaint Animation?
4
Please see the Lesson 01, section further details in the TVPaint Animation User Manual.
5
Can TVPaint Animation automatically increment the numeric part of the filename when exporting a file sequence?
5
Yes, it can. When you Export using the Sequence option, the base filename you designate is incremented as required. If you want the filenames to have a fixed number of digits, use a base name with the appropriate number of digits, as for example 'basename000.jpg'. This will result in files named 'basename001.jpg', 'basename002.jpg', and so on.
6
How can I change the location of the user files on Windows? By default it is in documents and settings... but I would like to save it on a different drive. I know there's the file 'tvpaint animation.ini' in the windows directory, but I do not know what line I should add in order to direct TVP to a different location.
6
In the file 'tvpaint animation.ini', you can add the line ConfigsDir="my config place"
WARNING: modifing a configuration file is always hasardous be sure you keep a copy of the file before working on it.
7
Does the savers allow users to import .rtv files and export them as well?
7
RTV files are only supported by TVPaint Animation Professional Edition, not by TVP Animation. By the way, Pro is the only one able to set a preference to output to the VT display.
8
Is it possible to export jpg or psd files with a higher resolution than 72 dpi?
8
Yes and no. No it will not save a file that will say '300dpi' when you load it up in photoshop for example, it would load as 72dpi. Yes you could work with other DPI's in TVPaint, but it will always save out as a 72 dpi image, you just have to do some math.
8 x 10 @ 72 dpi = tvpaint resolution of: 576 x 792
8 x 10 @ 300 dpi = tvpaint resolution of: 2400 x 3300
