Re: Your animation progress - what's your preferred way?

Oh, then he mentioned this in his book "Animation : From Script to Screen" which I once had.

Re: Brush tool lagging

I'd like to add as data point that I don't experience any brush lagging while working in 4K in TVP 10.5 on a 2008 Mac Pro with 8 GB RAM in OS 10.6.8.

Re: multipy mode difference

If by first layer you mean the bottommost one, then yes, this makes sense.

Re: import images bigger than screen

Open image in separate project, use KeyFramer FX in original project.

Or: open in new project, then crop.

Re: Storyboard/Animatic Inquiry

Of course, with any clip containing more than 1 frame you need to tell TVP which one to show (if it's not 1st frame by default).

Re: Stencil & Clear

True, and some workflows are not really intuitive. I've found my own solutions so I can work pretty fast in TVP. Stencils are one of its main advantages, I've developed a whole background style around them (starting from writings by John Krikfalusi about Art Lozzi's work for Flintstones).

Re: Stencil & Clear

I want to point out that I like to use the stencil with its source layer set to some transparency, or even 0%. If I want to clear something to 50% with a stencil, I use a rectangle fill set to 50% opacity at erase.

Ever wondered why astronaut's helmets look like goldfish bowls?

Something to cheer myself up during pandemia.

Re: Cannot save!

Situations where saving didn't work: - disc full - disc not available (remote volume) - disc heavily in use from another computer (like copying stuff from a shared volume) - same file name, file in use (like in Quicktime, this happens all the time while exporting) What I do: - try again later - try ...

Re: Cannot eliminate blue lines

The blue eraser X in the Sketch panel only deletes one very certain hue of blue, the one of the blue pencil in the same panel. If you use any other brush tool with that exact blue, the lines will be erased as well. If you use a different blue, anything darker will remain gray after using the blue er...

Re: work area - bigger than screen

1. Use the camera view.
2. To incorporate bigger-than-project artwork, open as separate window and place in smaller project via Keyframer FX.
