Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

Something else that should have been mentioned about the Cardin Collins workaround is that it doesn't work if you are making any changes to the Depth of Field or Focusing Distance parameters. Or rather , if you resize the project to a smaller size , the amount of Depth of Field/Focus Distance will b...

Re: import images bigger than screen

If you import an image that is bigger than your project size the areas outside the image will be cut so if you try to reposition it does not work. If you want to import a bigger image and reposition do you need to use the camera in the project or do you do it in another way? / Mattias Create a proj...

Re: Speedfill

The best advice I can give you at this point is to get familiar with the difference between using the Paintbucket fill method vs. CTG (Color & Texture Generator) method. Both methods are covered in the user manual, but fortunately there are also some good video tutorials, too. But just for reference...

Re: SparkoCam software to use DSLR camera signal for video capture in TVPaint

Thanks, David, for alerting us to the SparkoCam software. I bought it and used it to teach for the better part of a semester, and then started to explore some options for higher image quality into TVPaint. I've found a way to approach DSLR image quality with the live feed, and 3840x2160 capture. It...

Multiplane Camera plane colors

When using the Multiplane Camera FX "Wizard" to select clips or layers as Sources for the multiplane camera , the Wizard selection tool automatically assigns different colors to each plane , so it is easier to see which plane to select and drag to reposition the plane on the Stage. However, if you f...

Re: Cleaning up clutter in the FX Bin

It would be nice to clean up all this clutter if only the FX that were for a specific project showed up in the list (or perhaps there could be a system with sub-folders within the FX Bin , so the sub-folders could be named for specific projects, then the FX for a specific project saved in the desig...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

Well, I hijacked my own topic by going off with questions about the Rotation and Blur parameters in the Multiplane Camera FX . Let me try to get back to the original topic to add a few more thoughts that occur to me as I try to understand this Multiplane tool better. (to me, it is really not intuiti...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

Indeed, the circular pointer is a way to input angle, not rotation: you use it to precisely input a 0 to 359 degree ANGLE, never more - never less, . Good point! The label, "ROTATION", is definitely wrong. sven The labeling of the wheel/pointer as "Rotation" was one of the things that confused me a...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

About the Multiplane Camera parameters : What is the intended purpose of the parameters "Rotation" and "Blur" ? Also, moving the directional arrow on the wheel marked Rotation actually controls the Angle, it doesn't do anything to the Rotation parameters. For consistency it seems as if that wheel s...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

EDIT : note the post after this one where Svengali corrects my misunderstanding of how the parameters "Rotation" and "Blur" are applied." Also, see my follow-up posts after Svengali's post . ------- About the Multiplane Camera parameters : What is the intended purpose of the parameters "Rotation" a...

Cleaning up clutter in the FX Bin

Is there a way to make the FX added to the FX Bin project specific ? What I mean is this: as it is now when I add an FX to the FX Bin , it shows up in the list of saved FX in any subsequent (unrelated)projects I open. As time passes , adding various FX to the FX Bin will make the Bin quite cluttered...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

If you feed me with enough data to understand why the multiplane camera is laggy, I may try and improve it ... by 2021  What kind of data do you need ? All I can really suggest is to try putting together a scene with multiple layers at high-resolution (2K or higher) and the lag should be q...

What does this error message mean?

I received an error message that I've never encountered before. The message said: panic:Cache File bad size (4096-0117572351) Panic-Cache File bad size 40960117572351.jpg I received this message when I was trying to load a .mov file , 9MB in size , 1280 x 720. So not a huge file , but after the erro...

Re: Need a script to Resize Multiplane Camera project

My own pipeline now is to use the JSON Export script to take layers over to After Effects to do any complicated or "heavy" multiplane work . (but even AE can get very laggy if there are a lot of layers and the resolution is high , like 4K. ) I'm using the PixelBump Multiplane for AE script available...
