Re: Dotted lines

Just a guess: is the "step" parameter of your current tool connected to the mousewheel or some other input device which you can touch by accident?

Re: Audio Playback

Check the audio file sampling frequency and set TVP to the same number. You shouldn't have any further difficulties.

Re: Copy a layer with blending mode "as is" to new layer?

All I can say is that doing it my way seems to work ... Let's check again. - The blending mode layer is on top. - The bottom layer is in "color" mode. - The BG color is white. Now when I merge those two layers I get the desired effect only in the area where both layers overlap . That's to ...

Re: Copy a layer with blending mode "as is" to new layer?

Uhm, did you think of making the background colour a real solid layer?

I run into this every now and then, especially when dealing with many half-transparent layers on "multiply".

Re: Copy a layer with blending mode "as is" to new layer?

Know that problem, happens in Photoshop as well. The thing is that you can't expect to get the same visual result with only copying the layer with the blending mode set to something other than "color". It's like copying only one half of the equation and still expect the same result. The on...

Re: Using tablet in TVPaint animation

First you need to set up your tablet properly. This is done in the tablet's driver's controls. Read the inline help for that or search on the manufacturer's website.

Only after that you will have access to all functions of TVP.

Re: The New Tool Bin

I remember I did something like that for a rope tutorial long time ago in Director ... basically I used two brushes (two simple circles), the lighter top one a bit smaller than the darker bottom one. I made one of them follow the other via Lingo, and this way I got a "rope" with two darker...

Re: How to complete a camera pan in 8.5.4

2. See the "Z" in the upper left corner of the timeline? Click and drag it horizontally, this will zoom the timeline. 1. In v8, pans and zooms are done just the opposite way as one might think. The project window is the camera. You need a second project which is bigger than your first proj...

Re: Preferences, tools, bins

See? I'm as puzzled as you.

Anyway, I'm reconstructing my stuff now, most of it is done, since I had to present TVP yesterday to another would-be-animator, and she's willing to buy it.

Re: Can't Export!

hm ... now it gets complicated.
- Could you try and save it to a different volume/drive?
- Did you always name it differently?

Re: Can't Export!

1. Did you check "sequence", not "single image"?
2. Was the video file you were saving to still open in another program?
3. Did you accidently choose a codec like H.264?

Re: Preferences, tools, bins

Sadly I must report that the same thing happened to m Ahh, at least I don't feel that foolish anymore! The strange thing was that in my library there were two folders for TVP 8 (named differently, from different version), but none for any version of 9. That's why I said "TVP should store in th...

Re: Mac Dongle not reading.

Two steps I sometimes missed when I installed the dongle driver:
1. Don't install the driver while the dongle is plugged in!
2. Restart the Mac after installing!
Other than that I never had any dongle problems.

Re: Upgrade to 9.5 now prints tvpaintlogo on printer output

I suspect there is indeed some bug in the lock code database. I wanted to update from http://www.tvpaint.com/v2/content/article/downloads/update.php I copy&pasted my codes directly from the mail I got from TVP on 8.7.2008, when I had purchased 9.0.0, and it definitely said "Here are your Lo...

Preferences, tools, bins

Right now I'm a bit pissed because after installing 9.5 all my toolbins, brushes, prefs, and keyboard shortcuts are gone. Vanished. Nothing left. When I started 9.5 after installation, all worked fine. Then I removed all old 9.0 versions except 9.0.5, and suddenly all of my work environment is histo...
