Re: Animation Paper Software

It's basically a reboot of the old Plastic Animation Paper application that was out a few years ago. It's good for pencil tests and the like, but you still need a app like Photoshop or Gimp for doing layout, inking, coloring, etc.

Re: Grease Pencil

Pretty nice, takes a little getting used to, but you can get nice dark lines with a delicate touch. I like the non-smooth lines it produces, reminiscent of the late 60s Disney Xerox cel look :-)

An interesting analysis of the animation in this teaser:

Re: Peanuts! Feature film by Blue Sky

The twitchiness gives it an almost stop-motion feel to it.

Re: Peanuts! Feature film by Blue Sky

In a way, I like the rendering they chosen : even if it's 3D, they kept the original core of Charlie Brown's animations :) I mean, the animation is a little "rough" and "twitchy". (But yes, of course, I would have prefer to have a full 2D animation feature film, but that's bette...

Re: impressive new paint simulator

Interesting, this painting app is actually written with a game development toolkit called BlitzMax (based on the BASIC language). I played around with it using Wine under Linux, very responsive app, the fluid simulation was very smooth and mesmerizing to watch

Re: Tweening?

So this may sound like a noob question but is it possible to tween in TvPaint? I mean how am I supposed to do things like slow motion or like effects without tweens? The same way you'd do it if drawing with pencil on paper cels, by timing things out and drawing all of the frames you need :-P You ca...

Re: Ponyo Running - Rotoscoped Fan Animation

To be accurate with terminology, rotoscoping means tracing over live action, not previously existing animation.

Let's see some original stuff now!

Re: [updated] QuickSave & Load button set

It works well on Linux, for saving and loading. However, these things to note: 1. I get a dialog popup telling me it created /home/idragosani/QuickSaveImages for every use, even if the directory was already created. 2. When I load an image, even though the image loads into the frame, I get this erro...

Re: Can we secure this forum against random bot-posts?

More likely, they are just trying to get click-throughs on their links, whether or not they make a sale. I think the admins do a great job weeding these messages out, most times when I get a notification that a new message has appeared in a thread I am watching, the bad message is already gone when ...
