Change layer name

I've found that I'm quite used to double clicking on layer names to change that layer's name. In TVPA, I have to go to the context menu (the downward triangle on the right side of the layer name) and select the name of the layer, which brings up a dialog box where I can then enter in a name. Is ther...

Thanks for the info!

I'm slowly getting the feel for TVPA, but there's a few things (like this) that I just plain out brain-fart on.

Thanks again!

Toggling the Light Table V i e w -- not palette

Hi, Is there a way that I can turn the Lighttable on/off from the keyboard? I checked the UG and the Shortcuts in prefs. but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I'm working on a Dual Monitor setup and my wacom is mapped to the main monitor and the second monitor is where I keep the Timeline (...

Patrice: I turned off Open GL and the screensaver kicks in okay and the displays are okay. Thanks!

TVPaint: the next full moon is next week, I have my cellphonehooked up with a motion detector so it'll take pictures.

Playing frames kills display when screen saver kicks in

I've tried this with multiple apps open at the same time, and just my OS and TVPaint 8.5.x -- When I play an projects (scene) in TVPaint and set the play to loop everything's okay until the screen saver starts. Then both my monitors go black and the only thing that works is a reboot, usually 2 (some...

Hi Alex, I'm also taking an animation class and am using TVPaint for this class. Maybe it would be a good idea for the forum to have a child board for those of us who are learning (well, that'll be the entire membership of the board :D ) and want critiques. And a place where we can post WIPs for fee...

 You're totally right, just tested it and was able to set all three styluses to a different pen and color and was able to switch between them. I guess that I tried that in the demo and it didn't work and just assumed that was the case in the upgrade and the recent update. Sorry about my confus...

Using Different Wacom Pens with TVPaint

Hi, I have a intous II wacom tablet. I have two pens and an airbrush stylus. When I use a program, like Corel's Painter, I can have each stylus have a different "tool" (that is one stylus can be a pencil and the other can be an oil brush) and the Airbrush stylus defaults to the airbrush to...

Downloading the new update right now. Here's a related question, I thought that I'd use the new check for Updates feature in the copy of 8.5 that I downloaded yesterday for the update that was released today, and I got a TVPaint.com page that said the information that I submitted was incorrect. Is t...

Downloaded the Update and it was smooth, after getting the info the web page asked for. As a FYI, for those of us using an IntelMac with version 8.1 -- I couldn't use the dongle and had forgotten about it. When I installed 8.5 (just a drag from the DMG image to my Applications Folder to replace 8.1 ...

Thanks for the info.

Gives me a bit to play around with. Totally forgot about that Project Layers tab needing to be active before exporting.

Thanks for the rundown, Zig. I'll be messing around with the formats you mentioned later on today.

Exporting -- Config button does nothing

Hi, I've been working on a few projects with TVP Animation and am having some problems with exporting. First off, no matter what file format I export to, the Config button does nothing. How do I export a PSD and keep layers? I've been trying to figure that out but all I end up with is a single layer...

Thanks everyone! ZigOtto: I downloaded the SPblue&red.zip. How do I install it on my Mac OS X10.4.9? Is there a page in the UG about installing pencils and such. I'm still getting a handle on the interface, which is a bit different from the Painter, Manga Studio and Flash interfaces I'm used to....

Way cool example, D.T.! Love the cat, it's so retro like you said. Thanks very much for the answer to this thread's question and the extra info (about clean-up and such). I found myself doing much the same as you (doing the originals 2x and using new layers for clean-up so I have the ruffs intact ju...
