FX Stack and the Speed Profile

Has anyone using the Speed Profile with various FX Stack operations noticed odd problems with adding, cutting&pasting, moving of keys when the Speed Profile is checked? In my experience, I sometimes try to add or modify the position of keys but they frequently end up in another part of the timeline. However, if I remember to uncheck Speed Profile before adding or modifying a key, then it locates to the proper frame number on the timeline. Then I can recheck the Speed Profile to see how it modifies the pace or the actions of the timeline keys.

I've had this misplacement of keys happen often enough that I'm wondering if it would make sense to have the FX Stack editor suspend the Speed Profile influence whenever a key is added or edited in the timeline?

Yes, I have noticed the same problem. Same workaround as yours : uncheck Speed Profile to add or modify a key, then make adjustments to the speed profile after adding or modifying a key.

If that would be possible , I think it would be very helpful.

Yes, the FXstack UI is cumbersome.
And this problem you mention Sven, has always been there.
I use the same workaround as David.
But its conterintuitive and in some cases even recommend students to use Aftereffects if they have to do cameramooves

Because especially in the keyframer this issue is annoying.

Also it would give much more control if we could have separate graphs (speedprofiles) for each of the keyable FX atributes(position, angle, value, percentage... etc..)
And control of the shape of the speedprofile itself is also primitive.
I would like to have splinehandles, that would give us the option to make parts of the profile 100% straight.

peter,
try stacking three dots on each end of the wanna-be straight line. Repositioning any 3 point stacked group is figgit-y but it is do-able to refine timing and curves.

I have to agree on the implementation of the FX Stack UI and Speed Profile... like the warp deformation system and other notable tools in TVPaint, it needs another level of refinement to be truly useful as an artist's tool.

YES ! +1 . I posted this as a feature request for the Multiplane Camera , to allow each plane to have it's own speed profile , but it should apply in general to the speed profile in other FX.

Yes, that's the only way I've ever been able to get a straight line, although usually I can get what I want with one extra point inserted on each end of the held (flat line) portion.

This is a problem I've been thinking about since the beginning of TVPaint 11, but I'm aware that it's difficult to improve during version 11. Next version ... when will it be?

It wonder if it could be like holding down Shift allows you to draw a straight line ? Hold down shift while setting points in the Camera Profile Editor would create straight lines (holds) between two points.
