No, Annecy wants french subtitles. They even offer to do them, but I wanted a translator to be quite specific about the text, and I wanted to use that translation elsewhere.

Back from Stuttgart International Animation Festival. Made some new friends there, had breakfast with Gianalberto Bendazzi, saw some good, lots of average and some really awful films. From all the film programs I saw I can say my film was the only one mentioning TVP (and the logo) in the credits. Most animators I talked to at least know it, some tried it, but I didn't met anyone who said he/she was using it. But I recommended it a lot!

I haven't mentioned TVP in my end credits either. I knew I'd have to fight my producers for it and at the time I just didn't have the energy anymore, I had to pick my battles. Also I would have then felt obliged to mention every other software that we had used and bought licences for.

But then it is no secret that we heavily used TVP. It's tagged all over the blogs.

Here in Holland almost everyone seems to know TVP, btw.

Annecy schedule is out. "Spoon" is in Short Competition 1 which is shown for a total of 7 times, wow. I'll arrive on Monday, just in time for the 14:00 screening, but it will be a close race.

Thank you. It's going quite well so far:

April: ITFS Stuttgart
May: Filmfest MV, Schwerin
June: Annecy
July: Fusion (tbc)
August: Animix Tel Aviv
Anibar Peja (Kosovo)
Open Air Filmfest Weiterstadt
September: OIAF Ottawa
October: REX Stockholm
Szczecin European Film Festival (SEFF)
Animatou Geneva

But I missed several important deadlines already, was relying too much on my submission services. No big deal, will submit next year.

The list looks impressive, but there's a rule: the smaller the festival (and town), the longer the name of the festival ...

Il like especially that name : "International Food Film & VideoDiversity Festival"

Sounds like a guy woke up a morning and realize that he loved to eat AND watching animations at the same time (probably because of a good childhood memory, when he was eating cereals with his morning cartoons). And BOOM ! genius idea for a festival.

That one is held by an agricultural cooperative in Italy, very nice people, who try to bring some culture to the countryside.
