Instance Panel (tvpa 8.5 and higher)

Post by ZigOtto »

here's the Instance Panel,
it's a custom panel bringing together some tools to work on AnimLayer with Instances.
feel free to modify/rearrange/complete it to fit your needs.
:)

ps: you probably will have to manually put Hervé's Clear_Head_Frames.grg file in your George folder,
and re-assign the button's george command (RMB/Set Script...) to get the right full path, (regarding your own config).

Thanks ZigOtto,

The instancepanel is a great tool, not to be missed by anyone (will it be included in future tv-paint-updates?)

The 'clear head frames' tool is very useful too!

I think so ... the Instance Panel is a temporary toolset,
and some Animator Panel's tools are now redundant or obsolete,
so, in due time, I presume the Animator Panel and the Instance Panel would be recasted in a single Panel.

Zig, where do I go to find this panel? Does it have to be purchased? And I couldn't find the George panel in TVP either. Could you please give me some more details to get me going with it?

Hello Paul and welcome, I'm happy to see you here.

There is a dowload link under the picture, in the first message. far right.

The scripts are available in the Windows/Scripts menu.
They must be located in the "George" directory.

The george scripts can also be started from an action button, in a custom panel.
Here are the steps :
Open the panels with a click on the Custon Panel button (beside coordinate button).
Right-click on a custom panel to get the pop-up menu.
Choose "Add Action", a configuration panel opens.
Type a name for the action.
Select an icon.
Use the "0" dropdown menu and select "Set script".
Select the george script.
Close the panel.
Click on the new created button to run the script.

Hi Manuel! I love your green man in his green world. This answered my George question. Now could you help me with my instance panel question?

I still need help with the Instance Panel. I downloaded where you indicated and I now see the Instance Panel folder in TVP. What do I do next to open it?

in the mainpanel, rightclick on the custompanel icon.
at the bottom of the pulldown you'll find "load a new toolbar"
click and browse to the instance panel.bin file, the panel should load.

Ah! Found it in my own way. I don't see the custompanel icon in the Main Panel.

names, names, names ...
it not in the Main Panel, but in the Menu Panel, (though it haven't changed since Mirage),
the CP icon is located between the LightTable icon and the Coordinate icon.

OK, the name confused me but your pointing me to search for the bin from the custom panel did the trick. Now I have to get back to drawing Tulip before I can fully explore everything but the way I am setup I see that the transition was painless and very smooth. I just don't want to work with TVPA while it's still in trial mode. The instant we get my new dongle Keys we are relocating both to TVP.

The x-sheet panel looks graphically very appealing as do the icons of the Animator Panel. I just have two nagging issues:

1.why won't my toggle switch of my pen work anymore? I'm used to toggling that a hundred times a day.

2.Why doesn't KeyFramer stay activated after closing TVPA? I am used to keeping it opened at all times since I use it almost every day.

3.Fanany pointed to the splash screen TEMPLATE feature but how/where do I make a save?
