TVPaint 10.5.7 non-responding after leaving for a while

Post by Retablez »

Hi, I'm a Spanish user and my computer & soft data:
MyTVPaint version 10.5.7 Pro 64 bits.
MiniMac 2012
OSX Mavericks 10.9.3
Procesador 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memoria 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Gráficos Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Entry device: Wacom Cintiq 13HD

I've installed the last 10.5.7 Pro 64 bits and everything is OK until I have to go (leave, no closing) to another application or window (like Safari, or Photoshop...).
When I return to TVP (I use 2 screens and I don't even minimize none of the windows) the cursor travel around the work area, but doesn't respond.

No painting, no erase, no button or menu pressing... Only keyboard shortcuts seems to work.

It's like the pressure entry had gone dead, but sometimes, the pressure whimsically appears again (turning on/off the cintiq, pressing randomly pencil's buttons... there's no pattern here and that's not always the solution). Then everything works as expected... until I have to go to another application again. Then the problem starts over.

Hope you know what I'm talking about (my english isn't very accurate) and know some clue to fix it.

A bug was found on MAC 10.9.3, which affects Mac Pro.

Hello Mac users,

A bug has been found on Apple's forums that affects people having the new Mac Pro with the newest 10.9.3 version of MacOSX.
If you have more than 2 monitors, then the third (and those after) may not display anything.
This behaviour can also happen on the MacBook Pro Retina 15" if you plug a monitor on the HDMI port.

So, until Apple decides to fix this, I advise you to not install the 10.9.3 update of MacOSX and stay with the 10.9.2
Due to this problem, none of our Mac are using OS 10.9.3, until Apple fixes it.

It works fine for me, on 10.9.3 and 2 screens.

@Retablez : That is strange. This issue happens mainly with the end-2013 Mac Pro, but it also happen with a MacBook Pro Retina, and it could also happen with the MiniMac.
Anyways I would wait for Apple to push a fix to the multi-screen display issue.
Also, are your Wacom drivers up to date ?

Wacom drivers updated, and the problem persist.
Also, I've never had this issue with any of the prior versions of TVP, in this very same computer with the same devices/ monitors.

With absolutely no solution, forced to move to the 32 bits version on MAC OSX Mavericks, where the program runs perfectly after all. Seems that the conflict is with the 64 bits version.
