TVP 11.5.3 loses the option to save the file after ~20 min

Hi, I tried to update TVP this morning, and it's been a tad frustrating. First after installing the update I got a message saying “"TVPaint Animation 11.5 Pro” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." If I go in setting>preferences and click on open anyway, TVP opens and works fine, BUT after a certain amount of time (20/30 min?) the option to save my file disappears. Any idea what happened and what I can do to fix it?

my setup:
-macBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2015)
-Processor 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
-Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
-Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

-TVP professional 64 bits version 11.5.3
-Cintiq 13HD

A note as well: the export option doesnt work either. It says, function not implemented in the demo version. It's not the demo though, and the dongle is plugged in! And I DO have the option for about 20 min after opening

I understand that is very frustrating. I'm sure someone from TVPaint (probably Dean) will contact you on Monday , but officially no one from TVPaint is "here" on Saturday or Sunday, only Monday - to - Friday , so just to be safe I would suggest you also use the Contact form on the website to report this issue in case they don't immediately see your post here on the forum .

I have the exact same problem right now. I recently had to wipe my entire computer, then I tried installing the newest Pro version of TVPaint and I can't use the save feature. I downloaded the full Pro version, not the demo.

Any info on this?
I tried sending a message to tech support yesterday, but I can't tell if it went through or not.

Sorry to hear about everyone who is experiencing this frustrating issue.

It seems to me like this issue must be related to changes in Mac OS starting with Catalina and above.
I'm still on Mac OS Mojave and haven't experienced the issue with 11.5.3 losing the option to save files.

Hello Micah, I just responded to your email. We are investigating the issue right now, it seems to affect only old dongle licenses on Catalina/Mojave.

Hello, I'm also having this issue but I'm still using Mojave with a dongle license. Luckily I still have a previous version of TVPaint I can use until there's a solution

Something I recommend to try first on a Mac. On both my Mac Pros sometimes the USB bus needs a restart, or a little nudge, by replugging something.
